Thanks for the input!
Master of none, I did search for the processing speed threads, thanks :-). Lots to think about. Hopefully the written report we get about the testing will give us a little more direction.
Dottie - he did take a Woodcock Johnson achievement test the same day, we just don't have the results yet. The reason we had him tested now at almost 12 (this was his first IQ test) is that he wants to take a harder math class, so we need the achievement results too. The WJ test was at the same place but a different testing person, and she did not meet with us afterwards or tell us anything about those scores, so we won't have that detail until we get the written report. He also has to re-qualify for CTY this year so will take the SAT this year at some point.
The dr that did the IQ test on him said many of the same things you did! Including that the 155 score is hard to get at his age, and that he thought my son had a dysgraphia issue (he did not do well on a test where you have to write some symbols below letters or numbers or something like that, so the tester gave him a different test where he didn't have to write anything).
One more question - is it possible to calculate the GAI just knowing the verbal and perceptive scores? Or do you need the subtests for that?
Thanks for your responses! And having searched through the forums a bit more it appears that many people have dealt with the exact same issue!
