My older DD is about to enter third grade. She has been tested as MG/HG. She is pretty quirky (highly sensitive, regulatory control issues, attention concerns, food aversions) and we have had behavior issues at school, although they are improving. I love the idea of homeschooling her, but DH was never on board. DD is also very social and I worried about being able to meet that need at home.

We are now considering a move to the San Diego area. DH's job would be in Rancho Bernardo. In researching school districts and GT programs, I discovered that California has charter schools that allow for a hybrid homeschool/in school experience. There is a charter not too far away that would allow for 2 days a week in school and then homeschool the rest. Or we could enroll in occasional classes and have Friday labs and classes, etc. DH is on-board with this idea and I think it could be a good mix for my DD.

Anyone do anything like this? How does it work out? Thanks!
