    I couldn't believe it! I was having a conversation last night with another parent about our local school district. She was explaining that there were to many kids that qualified for pre-algebra and signed up for the class for this fall. So, instead of opening another class the school sat all the kids down in the lunch room and tried to talk them out of taking the class! shocked Her DD was among them and was floored that this was the way they chose to handle this. I am just speechless.

    That's just bizarre! I hope the parents make a fuss over this--can't the school find another qualified math teacher? Can't they just change one of the regular math sections to a pre-algebra section? They want to talk kids out of learning and challenging themselves? It just boggles the mind...
