DD4 was recently screened for early entrance and accepted. We have not had any formal testing done. They asked DD a lot of questions and had her tell them some basic stuff like shapes and colors and counting, letters. Will they test her, or was that testing? Will we get any results? Should I ask the early entrance person these questions. Should I ask for formal testing to be done by the school? I am not sure how to proceed with the school or what I need to find out. I requested a meeting by phone or in person to talk to the school before we make a decision about early entrance. What questions should I ask when I talk to them? Is there anything I need to know?

I would recommend asking the school if their screening was an "official" test or if it was just for their own criteria. If it was formal testing, ask for a copy of the results. Have you already gone over their early admit policy with them?

Testing can be done at 4, but often the results are a little ...flaky. If you can wait until your DD is 5.6-6 yo, you'll get a clearer picture.
