Update on my daughters GT program. I got a letter today and she has been accepted. So I think the high scores in COGAT must have made the difference inspite of a low GBRS.
Either I am very happy for her. Just wanted to thank all of you who responded to my queries. I appreciated all your comments and answers and good luck to everybody.

Congrats! We got our letter today too. smile

Are you going to the GT Center or do you have a choice of local Level IV?

Her current school has level 3 services. So she will go to a GT school with level 4 services. How about your child. Congratulations to your child. Looks like you are in Fairfax county just like me.

Yes, we are in FCPS. Our base school has a Level 4 classroom at each grade but we also have the option of going to the GT Center. I am conflicted and we have very little time to decide!

Congrats to both of your children. Here's hoping it's a great 09/10 school year!

    Congrats!
We just got our letter yesterday too. I wish we had the option of level IV at our local school, but we don't.
My dd burst into tears when we told her. She can't stand the thought of leaving her friends.

I've less than 2 weeks to convince her that this is where she needs to be.

We have an orientation at the center next week. I am hoping they really "wow" the kids smile

Supercrunch, I hear you. Even though we have Level IV at our school we are still moving to the GT center. She is going to be very sad. frown She does not deal well with change.

I have not told her yet.
