"Horrible test, awful day!", that's what GS9 said when I asked how his school day was. It was math test day for the standardized testing. He's been tired this week, lots of activities after school, so I immediately thought he was sick or thought he blew it. Nope, he went on to say, "The test was soooo easy I finished in 1 hour and had another hour to go over it and then sit quietly while everyone else finished!" That was excruciating! I have to think it probably didn't make the other kids feel too good to still be working while he was finished, squirming and bored.

OH I'm sorry GS had a horrible day. I am happy though that he persevered through it. My DS finds it very difficult on things he find too easy.

He's cheered up now. He's played with his dog, read some, and watch the Simpsons. It was all I could do to keep from laughing when he complained about a test being TOOOooo easy!

Poor guy frown Can he bring a book or something to read until they're done?

I think he did end up reading. Although he loves reading, he's really developing a desire for math. He was so disappointed in how easy the test was, that was all he thought about. This is about the only place where parents (and grandparents) understand a kid complaining about a horrible test because it's too easy!

I always read at my desk or asked to read a book on the subject being tested out in the hallway when I finished. Or took out my wrath over the lack of challenge on some of my older brothers' math assignments. Would they be willing to give him something harder after he finished?
