I have to recommend this book for the budding scientist, or kids who just like cool stuff - 'the book of totally irresponsible science'. Says ages 9 and up but I think that can be stretched down for this crowd.

64 experiments, most of which require about 3 ingredients and 4-6 steps. Explanations of 'what's happening' for each one.

Very fun, some stuff takes about 2 seconds to set up and it is just great for conversations with kids.

Perfect. Both boys are asking to do experiments and besides watching ice melt, I have a hard time of thinking of them!
