I have to recommend this book for the budding scientist, or kids who just like cool stuff - 'the book of totally irresponsible science'. Says ages 9 and up but I think that can be stretched down for this crowd.

64 experiments, most of which require about 3 ingredients and 4-6 steps. Explanations of 'what's happening' for each one.

Very fun, some stuff takes about 2 seconds to set up and it is just great for conversations with kids.

Is this going to get my kitchen blown up?

What? Your kitchen hasn't already been blown up yet?.......Lucky!

yeah, oddly enough, a lot of the video is shot outdoors!

Perfect. Both boys are asking to do experiments and besides watching ice melt, I have a hard time of thinking of them!
