It's from the same people who do the DORA test. It's usually $20. Here is the link: https://www.homeschoolbuyersco-op.o...rder&Itemid=898&source=TOS030309

Thank you. We did their reading test and liked it. I didn't feel that my curiosity was a good enough reason to pay $20 for math. I think I pretty much know where DS6 is. I won't say no to a free math test though wink

I had forgotten all about this until last week. LOL! They never sent me an email, so I went to the site, and sure enough, there was all my info. So DS2ndgrade just finished the assessment....and man, it was long. I let him do it over 3 days. He scored 5.6-5.83. He maxed out on the 5.83 because that's as high as it goes. I think he was just happy to be done with the thing because when I showed him the scores he said "that's nice". hahaha!

I had DS6 start it this evening and man---it seems very long. Not sure if I can actually convince him to finish it. Just sitting next to him for parts I can easily see that despite NO math challenge at all this year and his general refusal to do anything academic anymore I really shouldn't worry. He's still easily above grade level.

I signed up and the email ended up in spam but I did go back and look. I got DS(in K with no math in school) to take it because anything on the computer is exciting. I was shocked. Literally shocked. There are so many things he knows that I have no idea where it came from. He scored high 2nd grade overall and mid-3rd grade in fractions. Where the heck he learned fractions is a mystery to me. He said he figured it out watching me cook and playing with the measuring cups.

This assessment was a big big wakeup call to me at the beginning of April. I realized that it's unlikely that he will ever be truly challenged across the board in any class and that it's time we start advocating for the "least worst" scenario. His teacher this year still has the kids putting numbers 1-20 in order 3x a week... at his private GIFTED school. Yeah... time to move on.
