I'm looking for some book recommendations for my reading averse son - so they have to be really, really funny to motivate him.

He is coming up to 8, is under-performing (through laziness/lack of motivation we are told) and need something to "get 'im goin'"

Has he gotten past "Captain Underpants" yet? My son also liked "Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Catcher" and "Frindle"
