We recently had DD14 retested because we were trying to get her accommodations from the College Board (before they announced that they would honor existing accommodations in IEPs and 504s). I don't have a formal report yet. I only have a copy of the WISC-V worksheet. DD meets the testing criteria for DYS based this info. I'm looking for feedback, is going through the DYS application process worth it for teenagers?

FWIW, WISC V Percentiles: GAI 99.9, VC 99.9, VS 99.8, FR 99.9 (+), WM 88, PS 84

It is my understanding that the criteria are the cut-off SCORES[/i] as listed on the DYS Qualification webpage and formal report, as opposed to a list of corresponding [i]PERCENTILES.

Because students may become DYS until age 16, and may remain in the program until their 18th birthday, it appears you still have time to apply, and may still have 3-4 years for your child to benefit. This time period may include taking summer classes for advanced academics and dual credit options, choosing a college, university, gap year, and/or other post-secondary pursuits. If you believe your child may need or benefit from input and guidance in these areas, then it is well worth applying.

I believe there was a Psychometric Conversion table for the WISC V floating around that said that 99.9 percentile was above 145 on the test. I remember this number because I checked it before my child's actual numbers were given to me.

Her scores qualify her easily. I just didn't want to put the details online. The DYS application seems like more work at this point in our lives. I'm trying to figure out if it is worth it.

I don't think the application is really all that much work if you have qualifying scores. It's been a little while, but I think I did ours in less than a day.

Do you live close enough to Reno that going to the Summit is realistic for your family? If so, I'd definitely sign up. If not, it might depend on whether they have a strong presence in your region.
