Hope everyone is having a great start of the school year...

Hope no one minds me adding to the advocacy thread. Would anyone chime in on the reasons why the District doing an in home speech and language evaluation (with the intention of declassifying DS15) would be inappropriate. I would prefer a speech evaluation that includes an eval for an auditory processing disorder at a specializing center or a hospital. But having trouble articulating my argument.

FWIW, I was just diagnosed with an APD, because I have high frequency hearing loss and miss certain consonant sounds. My hearing aids arrive next week! My audiologist says I will not have to work as hard to hear and will have better listening comprehension.

Just wondering if APD is a piece of the puzzle that I am missing for DS15? I know it's a close cousin to a language processing processing disorder, which DS15's 2012 neuropsych diagnosed him with. TIA....

Is he homeschooled? Perhaps the district wants him to be in a comfortable environment? Are the sending a audiologist and a psychologist?

He attends a rigorous priv HS. Not sure if the District will be sending a psychologist or a speech therapist. The District is not open to an auditory processing disorder eval. yet.
