OP funtimes Member F Joined: Jun 2015 Posts: 70	Hi, We always seem to have issues with finding the right classes for DS. He's very motivated and interested in programming and coding. He s been introduced both scratch( at school) and JAVA(Youth Digital), but is by no means fluent. Has anyone actually tried CTY Johns Hopkins Scratch that can give me an idea of the pace and depth of the course. Its so expensive, Im extra worried about finding the right fit. Thank you!

(https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-programming/programming) My DD9 wanted to take that JHU CTY's Scratch class also, but as you mentioned, it is crazy expensive. I looked around for some alternatives and was happily surprised by the depth of Khan Acadamy's courses which are _free_. We decided to try that first and my daughter loves it. Also, I like that she's learning JavaScript instead of Scratch. I'd highly recommend exploring Khan Acadamy before shelling out for the CTY class.
