My 8 year old is getting very interested in the voting process. She is asking lots of questions about how superdelegates are chosen, how you know whether your delegates are bound or unbound, which states independents are allowed to vote in, etc.

I have told her that states and parties all have different rules. She wants to be able to compare them.

Does anyone know of good resources that I can use to explain this? I have been googling a bit, but I'm not too clear on it all myself and it has been a very busy week for me.

I doubt that there is a comprehensive book on this. You may have to look them up in each state.

Heck, even Donald Trump's campaign could not figure it out. And he is running for president.

It's hard to find an unbiased link via Google, but there are some research documents that might be helpful. Selection guidelines are not only party specific, but the process is specific to each state.
