Just wondering if anyone has had experience or input regarding hiring a private art instructor or enrolling in private art classes? DD12 is requesting them specifically for drawing techniques. She has previously been more focused on 3D type arts but draws well although much stronger with cartoons. Given her current magnet concentrations, art will be one of her possible high school magnet applications as well. Apparently, it is not an unusual thing as a number of students in regular art (required for all students so not necessarily the magnet program) at our public magnet school has private art instruction. Is it like music lessons in terms of cost and arrangements? Any point to taking a private class or is private individual instruction the way to go?
