    Hello all,

I am thinking of ordering one of the independent study 'anytime, anywhere' courses from Duke TIP (specifically either the 4-6 math quest one or the 4-6 cryptography and mathematics). Has anyone completed them (or any of the Duke TIP courses)? What was your experience? Positive? Negative? How much of a time commitment? Fun? Worth the money? It looks like a lot of fun, and DS has shown interest...but we don't want it to be one of those things that sort of falls off after a few weeks. Also, is it something that would be ok to do once a week or would that be insufficient? If anyone has any feedback, info, etc, that would be awesome.

Also, is EPGY (redbird reading/math) a completely different format? (this would be the one without an instructor.) Does anyone use it - and if so, do you like it? Thanks!

We had the opportunity to use EPGY and now Redbird. We made the switch to Redbird after trying it out. The reason being it was much more conceptual and word problem oriented with interesting word problem usage. EPGY was more direct math problem solving with much less word problem emphasis.

So all depends on what you are looking for.
