DS didn't "bubble up" on the Kingore Planned Experiences that our district uses to screen for giftedness in all first graders, and when we discussed that with the school (because he shows lots of attributes of being gifted and his teachers agree that he is well beyond grade level), they decided to give him the CogAT. I know from this board that's probably not ideal, but it's the only thing the offered, so OK.

They have not said anything about when scores will come back and I'm curious what's normal. He was just tested last Thursday and there's only a few weeks left in school. Any chance we'll get results before the end of the year? I'd like to start having conversations about how to meet his needs before the end of this year.

In my district, tests were in Nov and scores came in Feb, but I've heard other places have had them sooner.
