I just realized I posted with a similar question about 3 years ago!! How embarrassing that I still haven't moved on DYS but until recently we were having good luck. Recently we've moved and things are getting tougher.

One program we're looking at requires a WISC IV and the SBV. Below are her scores and I'm thinking I should finally apply to DYS.

However, the main question is what might account for the big discrepancy between the verbal and non-verbal scores on the SBV. Anyone have any experience/thoughts that might be helpful?

    Standard Percentile Descriptive
    Score Classification
    IQ Scores
    Full Scale IQ (FSIQ)
    Nonverbal IQ (NVIQ)
    Verbal IQ (VIQ)

    Factor Index Scores
    Fluid Reasoning (FR)
    Knowledge (KN)
    Quantitative Reasoning (QR)
    Visual Spatial (VS)
    Working Memory (WM)

Below are her WISC IV scores:

    VCI
    PRI
    WMI
    PSI
    GAI
    FSIQ

Thanks for any input, I really appreciate it!

Have you for the breakdown of verbal versus nonverbal scores for each factor index.

Our DD scored lower in nonverbal. She was later diagnosed with a connective tissue problem which affects writing etc. No idea if that impacted or not.

I would think that your DD does need significant accommodations so well done for managing this far.

The verbal/non very gap is actually greater on your WISC scores (VCI is 21 points higher than PRI). It seems like her profile is pretty stable across both tests to me, the working memory is lower in the WISC, but they do measure WM differently so some discrepancy is not unusual.

    Agreed.

And the way in which the SBV WM is different favors those with language strengths.
