I'm not sure where to post this but DS6 has been asking for a pen pal ever since reading about pen pals in a book. I loved my pen pals as a kid. Does this even happen anymore?

Unfortunately, not so much. This may be due to privacy concerns, child predators, identity theft, stalking, etc. However some youth groups may attempt to match interested children as pen pals, and oftentimes parents may find a colleague or distant cousin with a child interested in being a pen-pal. Having a connection through a trusted organization or trusted adult may be key.

Parents may wish to conduct a websearch on their child's name from time to time.

I actually just matched him with the child of an old friend currently living in Africa. We will see how long this lasts smile
