I am certainly open to joining anything that may be useful moving forward, particularly if it means he might meet kids like him. The issue is... There's no youth chapter near me. There are a list of benefits- including a great EPGY discount-- but the discount alone does not justify the initial fees to join. Am I missing something? Has anyone here joined? I'd love a review. http://www.my-little-poppies.com

The only activity they have offered in our area was still more than an hour away. I was hoping to have a more active local chapter as well and it hasn't turned out that way. Wish I had better information for you.

It's a great way to meet new people and make friends; each area usually has their own get-togethers and calendar of events. http://www.mensa.org/national-groups If you are in the US, you can search for the local chapter here: http://www.us.mensa.org/AML/?LinkServID=85BA4820-E622-849E-15A997378678432D Most of the chapters will have their own website and you should be able to see the calendar of events. At a minimum, there will be someone you can contact for more information.
