    Hi,
My 10 year old dd is in 5th grade and over the last couple of weeks has taken, and passed, a series of placements tests to qualify for Honors Algebra in 6th grade. The last step is the IOWA readiness test. Does anyone here have any info on the test? I am wondering how difficult it is, etc. She has been working on algebra outside of school for a while now (through Kumon)so I am thinking it should not be a problem...

I gave it to my son a few years ago when he was 10. As I recall, it wasn't very difficult, but he did have some trouble finishing in the time allotted.

    Hi again...

Well she just took the test this morning, and was able to qualify. She got 55 out of 60 correct, which puts her in the 98 percentile. Given that she is only 10 and in 5th grade I guess that is pretty good! I was on the fence as to actually enroll her but I think she is ready.

Excellent! Sounds like you have found a great placement for her!
