Back in the early 80s when I was in grade school, I remember using a resource I believe we referred to as 'Challenge Cards.' The cards were contained in two or three boxes, each box with two or three columns of cards. Each card contained a different puzzle or riddle designed to make you think. The cards were categorized by difficulty and had a stripe of color running across the top. Light blue cards were easy, deep purple cards were hard, and there were red, green, and other colors along the way.

Now I'm teaching my own child, and I'd love to locate this resource. I've been trying to find these things for years with no luck. Does anyone know what these are called and where I can find them?

    Thanks.

You have probably looked already, but did you try ebay? I think you can post what you are looking for there somehow.

Are they these? http://www.challengecards.com/ They don't look exactly like what you describe, but wanted to mention them.

This is a crazy idea, but it might be worth writing or calling the school you attended to see if anyone remembers/still has any.

I remember a program like that - SRA. My GATE class required some number of different colored cards per week. My normal class had them too, but we did them less.

I was just thinking that. We all LOVE those-- started using them with DD when she was about 5, and boy, did she ever love the fact that she could sometimes best her dad and I. laugh

Sadly none of these are what I was looking for, though the SRA cards are the closest I've seen to them. I remember them being such a great resource for me and I'm sad I can't seem to locate them any longer.
