    Hello,
My son was tested privately (sb5) and by the school (wisc iv). The results seem much more spread on the wisc (although the school psych said that he was distracted in some tests).
I am wondering whether any one ad any thoughts on the differences between the results. Also I am wondering whether I have calculated the gai correctly ( 147 ) and whether it is appropriate for him and should I be worried about the wm etc given thy didn't seem so low on sb5.

    Sb5
Nonverbal Tests Scaled score (1-19) Verbal Tests Scaled score (1-19)
Fluid Reasoning (routing) 15 Fluid Reasoning 17*
    Knowledge 19* Knowledge (routing) 16*
Quantitative Reasoning 14 Quantitative Reasoning 15
    Visual-Spatial Processing 13 Visual-Spatial Processing 16*
Working Memory 14 Working Memory 14
    NVFR (matrices ss15)
    Verbal Knowledge (vocab ss 16).

    Wisc
    His results were:
    Verbal comp:
    similarities 19
    vocabulary 19
    comprehension 16
    perceptual reasoning
    block design 15
    picture concepts 14
    picture completion 14
(comment that he had trouble concentrating here due to returning after lunch)
    working memory
    digit span 11
    letter-number sequence 15
    Processing speed
    coding 11
    symbol search 12
    The calculations are:
    vci 99.9
    pri 96
    wmi 86
    processing speed index 73
    full scale score 99

    I would appreciate any thoughts.

I would say they seem more scattered because there is no processing speed component in the SB5 and that was his weakest area in the WISC, his WM was a little uneven in the WISC too, with one lower score. The WM tests work differently on the SB5 and are "gentler" for some kids. He's got a clear strength in the verbal on both tests. Looks to me like the SB5 was maybe hiding some weaker areas but not necessarily showing his strengths that well either?
