...can anyone tell me the general time it takes to give this test? My 5 year old son went in today to take the Weschler Preschool test and he was in there for approx. 1 hour and 25 minutes and she said that he was about half way through it so we will be going back on Wed. to complete it and she said it would be another 1 hour and 25 minutes...I didn't realize that the test took almost 3 hours....was just curious what the average time period should be? Thanks!

I don't know what the average time period should be but I think it took at least a couple of hours for DS.

Both girls were totally done within an hour and 1/2. But, they both have high processing speed scores, so I think they just work through very quickly. Some very bright children work quickly, some very bright children work a little slower. It can be more related to personality than anything else.
The tester had originally told us 3 hours for the test.
Did he like the test? Lots of kids think it's fun.

Thanks so much for the info! I had just honestly expected maybe an hour and half or so because he took about that time on the SB. He seemed to really enjoy himself - to get a 5 year old to sit for 1 hour and 25 minutes is a task in of itself and with a sensory disorder child to boot! That is my biggest worry - trying so hard to get as accurate a score as possible with an SPD child. I thought it was funny when I asked him about the testing when we got home - he got this exasperated look on his face and said "Mommy I was so frustrated though because I had to build some things with blocks and when I was building I really wanted to place the blocks up next to the card just to make sure I was doing them correctly but the lady wouldn't let me do it. I really wanted to do it my way." He is such a perfectionist and is always wanting things to be done just so!

Just curious, is he taking the Weschler with the same tester as the SB?

No - this is a different setting/person....for the SB we traveled about 1.5 hours to take it and we thought it was just too long to have to sit in a car and then go sit to take a test so we found someone local.
