    Excellent!
Is there a way you could 'hothouse' his 'talking to strangers' abilities? I'm not sure it's as needed for the SB but it sure makes a difference on the WISC. Plus it's a nice area to be flexible in if it's possible.

We are certainly going to try. I have already been explaining to him how important it will be to give full answers. I told him if the examiner asked him a question to tell everything he knows not just the first thing that comes to mind. I let him know he will do better on the test if he does this. Doing well on the test is very important to him. He gets mad if he misses any questions so I think it is a great motivator.

I wouldn't push so hard if he didn't want it so badly but he really wants to be in this program. Several of his friends are going to be in it.

Not only that but I believe he deserves to be in it. I was looking at his OLSAT scores and the area he did the best in was Verbal Comprehension and Vocabulary. The difference was his teacher that he loves administered the test. He is not scared of her and will talk her ear off. If that had been the case with the WISC test his full scale would have been more like 130.

I was thinking more along the lines of hothousing the skill in a non test specific way - setting up Adults that you know and trust (at least minimally) for him to practice talking to.

Some kids only need the parent to tell them what to do and why. My kid was the opposite. He needed to practice the behavior and have me notice and praise what was working. What are some real world activities that involve him explaining his thinking to strange adults? Does he have a favorite topic that he could be an expert helper to folks on?
