Has anyone on her used K12 in a charter school? If so how do you like it. We just started it with our daughter. Our school doesnt have a lot of social options, but I think next year if we like the program we may switch to a different more social school who also from what other parents on a k12 program forum has said lets thier children advance in the subjects they were ready to advance in.

We have our kids' names into the lottery for a local STEM charter school (K-10 this year, will be K-11 next, then K-12 the year after). They test the kids frequently through the year and send the kids to whatever grade class is appropriate for each subject.

ETA: I guess I am not very helpful, lol! The parents of the kids who go there seem to love the place, though.

Thanks. She was tested and she was ahead in everything. She got an 88% on the end of year first grade math. Her teacher told me to just work on the things I want to. As long as she has 3% on each subject and something from each subject to turn in during the week I can do what I want. She has math, science, language arts, phonics, history and writing. History is mostly geography but they call it history so I go with it. She learned about Australia today and her 5 senses(already knew those), we are doing end of unit assesments to see what she needs more work on in math and just going over what she needs more work on in phonics to give her extra practice. She is writing sentences with language arts work on pictures and we are learning more about the animals and places. But it is giving us a good base for us to keep her on learning.
