Hello all,

My name is Lori. I am the publisher at Millennial Youth. Our company produces content for youth and adult articles written by high school and college students. We also produce a quarterly print magazine by the same name.

As the parent of a child who has dealt with many forms of acceleration (my son is now a happy senior at MIT), I've always wanted to get information out there about acceleration. One of our writers will be working on a feature article about acceleration that will be delivered to US newspapers in June.

We are looking for parents and/or kids, teachers, administrators etc. to interview who can talk about their experiences with acceleration. We would like to hear from people with children at all age levels and who are in different learning environments. So far, Kaitlin (the writer) has interviewed quite a number of kids who started college early, but we want to get several voices into the article. Here's a description of the article:

ACCELERATION

In the US, students are educated in groups according to their age. But if your three year old is reading the Cheerios box and adding the cereal instead of eating it, what do you do? Students who have skipped one or many grades weigh in.

I am sure that many of you in this forum know how difficult this journey can be. If you would like to talk about it for a national story, please contact me at lcullen@millennialyouth.com or call me at 518-387-3008. I'd be happy to share more information about where the stories will appear. The deadline for interviews is Tuesday, February 21st.

P.S. - Also, if any of you has teen kids who love to write and might be interested in exploring their interests through journalism (this includes writers, photographers, videographers and comic artists, please check out our magazine. You can see sample issues by visiting these two links:

I hope to hear from you soon!

Best,
Lori
