    Hello,

    KTEA II:
Subtest Standard Score Percentile Grade Equiv
    Letter and Word Recognition 151 >99.9 4.8
    Reading Comprehension 133 99 3.5
    Phonological Awareness 115 84 6.8 Ceiling
    Nonsense Word Decoding 141 99.7 4.8

His reading was almost entirely self taught. I don't really understand how phonological awareness could be at the ceiling yet 84th percentile or what the total KTEA II reading score would be. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Dee

Phonological awareness is at the ceiling because he got all of the questions correct, and it can also be at the 84th percentile because 16 percent of children that age in the norming sample also got all of the questions correct.

Thanks aculady! That makes sense. His twin received
    119 90 6.8 Ceiling
    on the same subtest.
