Wondering if anyone knows of a good person to test for Dyslexia in a possibly highly gifted child in CA. My son is above where he should be but has always had funny things that made me suspect dyslexia. But then he always is way above the average child his age in reading and math so I'd disregard it. He a lot slower that my other kids though, who are highly gifted. I suspect that it is masked dyslexia because of the giftedness. I'm looking for a way to help him or someone who can identify if I'm correct and tell me what to do for him. Anyone have experience with this or know who to go to for testing?

    Hi Jenafur -
Great to see you here -
    Have you read
    http://eideneurolearningblog.blogspot.com/2005/09/stealth-dyslexia-when-writing-is.html

Drs. Fernette and Brock Eide are well thought of in this area, if you can get an appointment for an evaluation.

I've also heard good things about
    http://www.paulbeljan.com/
he for sure gets highly gifted - we didn't face dyslexia so I don't know much about that end.

Twice exceptional is tough to figure out.
    Hugs,
    Grinity
