Hello, we are looking for psychologists in OKC or Edmond to test our son (6). He's always been extremely verbal and quick with concepts, reads at a high level but is starting to get in trouble for fidgeting and talking out of turn in 1st grade. Personally, I think he is frustrated but our school system does not test for gifted students until the end of second grade going into 3rd grade. So we are looking for an outside source to test him, any advice is welcome!
    Thanks!!

If you'll look at the thread below this in reference to testers in DFW you'll see there's someone @ UNT that does the testing. Might be worth the drive down from OKC. Also, you might try checking out the Ed dept @ OU to see if someone there does the testing.

Sorry, I am a month or so behind in reading the boards...

The University of Central Oklahoma Learning and Behavior Clinic is located in Edmond. http://www.ucolearning.com/

My pediatrician recommended getting my daughter tested there, when we were ready to 'work' with the school to get her placed correctly. I haven't had her tested yet, as we are homeschooling. The downside: it is a university run clinic with graduate students, so not to sure on the experience of the direct testers. The upside: lower cost.

Come back and let us know who you went with and your experience. I am still thinking of having my DD tested after she turns 6, and we are also in Edmond. (If you are actually in Edmond schools, which are very good schools, you may want to note that they claim 31% of students qualify for GT services...which makes me wonder several things about the services.)
