I live in Massachusetts. My son will be in 3rd grade next year, and I would like him to take the Explore test (in part to qualify for DYS), but I don't see how to register. The C-Mites talent search of CMU has test sites for the Explore, but only in Pennsylvania.

Here is a link for some talent search opportunities. You'll need to go through and find out which ones, offer Explore in your area. smile

I live in MA aswell. My situation is similar to yours. I have checked with my DD's school district, most private schools - NONE administer the exam. the only way to get them to take the exam would be - (yes, as painful as it sounds)traveling to Pennsylvania !

Also, if you do decide to go that route: Just remember they are offered only twice a year. I missed the deadlines by a huge margin last year frown

We are planning on doing it this year.

I was a little shocked after I had DD10 and DD10 take the Explore in October, thinking it could be a "warm-up" for repeating the test in Jan or Feb, only to be told by Belin-Blank that students may take the test more than once per academic year, but only the first test taken will be scored.

You can still register through CMITES, but you have to figure out your own test site number through the EXPLORE website. We just did it that way: my son took the test here in FL this month, but registered through CMITES. Just add a note on the CMITES application and they will get back to you really quickly.
