Anyone know of reasonable testers (IQ) in the DFW area?
    Thanks,

    And:

    Another option for IQ testing:

Tandra L. Tyler-Wood, Ph.D. at UNT administers the WISC for $250.

I would highly recommend Dr. Lusby at Cornerstone Assessment. I talked to Dr. Lusby on the phone for about 30 minutes and she is very familiar with DYS and has tested two of her clients into the program. The testing and write up is not cheap....$950 for IQ test and achievement test. She will first test IQ and if it's in the DYS range then she will continue with achievement. Dr. Lusby breaks down the testing this way so you don't have to pay for the achievement portion if your child does not test into the range. Dr. Lusby thought my DD7 was a very strong candidate based on her past experience but we do not have the money set aside at this time. DD7 is doing great at school and tested LOVES her GT class/teacher. If DD7 was not doing well in school or unchallenged then we definitely would bite the bullet for further testing so we could get the assistance from DYS. Keeping Dr. Lusby's information in my back pocket incase issues arise and we need her expertise.

    Hope this helps!

I talked to Tandra Wood at UNT today and she does administer IQ and achievement test with write up for DYS for only $300!!! Tandra said she is very familiar with the DYS and is one of the top Psychologists in getting children accepted into the program. UNT only charges for the cost of the actual tests since her department is research only so no additional cost for norming and write up. Tandra was very helpful and informative and I bet she would have given me a lot more free advice. Husband and I discussed and we are going to get our DD7 tested after Christmas. Tandra thought DD7 will be shoe in based on her past experience and previous test scores.
