DS8 (2e autism) told me this morning that a boy in his 3rd grade class always requests him to be his partner in social studies because DS "focuses on the work and doesn't fool around."

I was excited because another kid noted and appreciated DS's focus/concentration AND willingly picked DS for a partner. (DS has more often than not been the partner of last resort...)

I'm sure that quality will be more and more appreciated as the kids start to sort themselves into "serious/studious" vs. "sporty" and so forth...

    Good for him.
