DD does not start until Sept 6. It is just the middle of summer for us right now! I dropped her off for her first day of 'geek camp', aka all-girls science camp. this morning. She was lamenting that her brain still wanted to be on vacation, but excited at the thought of making potions and blowing things up in the chemistry lab. I really, really hope she was joking about the last part.

We start Sept. 1. The girls are excited. I'm worried that DD10 isn't going to learn much this year.

Sadly our school district does not. They actually will be spending almost a month reviewing last years material. We start school Sept. 6.

We start September 6th as well. I wish we were starting this week, dd is so ready for the predictability that school offers! We won't have testing until the beginning of the school year. I am eager to see how they group the children in the GATE classes as I know that she will be skipping over 1st grade math directly into second grade. I am interested in knowing if there are reading groups. Her classes will be splits from now until the end of 6th grade.

LOL, I think they are assuming summer loss which is common although not usually with gifties who often have the opposite trend.
