This is more of a contest for adults, but my 15 year old daughter has won before, and they don't actually have any age restriction, so it is totally possible for kids, especially gifted ones, to win.
Weekdays, at "http://www.worldatlas.com/geoquiz/current.htm", clues are posted leading towards a city, country, state, continent, desert, etc. These can get *very* hard some days. (you can browse the past 100 quizzes to see the style of questions and obscurity of the answers).
The best part? The first person to get the correct answer each day (which is *very* fast, sometimes within a minute), gets 100 dollars.
Anyway, just thought I'd throw this out there, because if you get good at it, you could over time win a good sum of money, not to mention that it's just plain fun for the geography/puzzle freaks out there like my family..
