We just had one the other night from DD2.9months..Findaley (my spelling and I am terrible at phonics as I managed to hit the whole language years in school) Anyways it means "The commotion under water when looking from below."

Another of her words is lasterday. It is sometime in the recent past that is more than just yesterday.

We have lots of made up words here too. There are several worlds of imagination that DD and DS jump into and talk about. I just can't keep up.

My favorite "made up word" from my oldest DD when she was a toddler -- "brinin." This is what it is called when the water from the shower bounces off the wall or the floor and hits you.

Her most practical - "glassable" - which was something that would break like glass.

I never really thought of them as imaginary words, but DD5 had some funny ones when she was learning to talk that we still use to this day. She used to want "fuffles" for breakfast in the morning, and when we started her eating chicken nuggets I called them "chickie nuggets" and she turned it into "kiwi nuggets". She ordered "one kiwi nugget, please" at McDonald's one time. smile

These are funny! My girls had a few too.
    My 2nd still uses " I amn't" for "I am not".
When I used to correct my oldest and told her to "behave", she'd tell me "I AM being have!".

My favorite that my then 3-5 year old said was "willn't" instead of "won't". It was so cute and made perfect sense, so I hated to correct him! I kinda miss it now . . . .

My mom says that, when I was little, I used to say "what-ya-do-me?" instead of "what are you doing?" My mom still pulls this one out for use every once in a while!

She thought she could, so she did.

Both of our DDs are great at making up words! Between the two of them they have their own language that they understand completely, but no one else has a clue what they're talking about. It is a lot of fun to listen to them jabber on!
