I just received this in an email. Has anyone heard anything about CogAt changing this year?

"I am always happy to help a parent with questions! So please don't apologize for trying to do the best you can for your children. We give the Level 1 for first graders. However, next year, the cognitive test has been renormed (typically this is done every 5 years), so a new, updated test has been published that we will be using."

My child took the Cogat this year. I'm not sure what it means, his score and how it relates to his actual ability... any thought would be welcome.

I was also shocked to see some students score into the G&T based on these scores - makes me wonder about the test.

My child took cogat this year. Scored 98 percentile. later went into the second phase testing of GT program. And finally got selected in the GT program.

laura0896 , I didn't what made you shocked about this test. In our district this is the phase I testing part for GT program.
