    Hi all
I am new to the forum based on my sons 2nd grade MAP score 220 in Reading and 224 in Math, which from a brief online search seem high. I am wondering what are the options he has or possiblites for learning he may have for next year. We live in north suburbs near Chicago
    Any ideas is greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

I am looking for more enrichment kind of ideas, online resources I can use to help him to strengthen his basics.

He is accepted and registered to take Math at the Center for talent development program from North Western University.

I like the school he got in for 2nd grade they have been able to teach to his ability so more just looking for external resources to supplement do what I can do over the summer.

Northwestern has a summer program.. http://www.ctd.northwestern.edu/summer/

They have a few campuses ... Skokie, Naperville, Palatine and in the city. There is also a programthru Northern Illinois University. For that one you need teacher reccomendations..

I believe Quest Academy (Palatine) or The Einstein Academy (Elgin) have summer programs as well

DaVinci Academy in Elgin is a gifted school that has a summer camp, but I do not think the camp is a gifted program. However, it did have a write in the paper about being a good camp, and some gifted kids from the school may be attending and you could get info on their Saturday morning classes. I also live in the nortwestern subs and have been thinking about getting more info on the school for Jr high.
