I've always loved the "Your _____ Year Old" series by Loise Bates Ames. It's not a parenting book per se, more of a child development book. It goes from 1yo to 9yo with individual books for each age, then there's a single book for 10yo+. They are a bit dated, they were written in the 70s and haven't been updated, but the developmental information is still useful, just some of the cultural context is very different than we experience today (i.e. references to 'Father' being the bread winner and encouragement to have him participate in parenting).
