You can write a letter to the district stating why you want the GIIEP revised (I am doing that right now). Once you get the final copy, if you don't approve the GIEP, you have the option of mediation and/or due process. Technically (on paper), if you don't approve the GIEP and don't specify whether you want to pursue those options, it automatically goes to due process. In reality, no district will try to get a hearing officer to order that the kid gets the GIEP. So basically, nothing happens.
