Still a couple of weeks away, but if you don't approve the GIEP, what happens next? Assume for a moment that the GWR recommends gifted services/identification.

Just asking to be prepared for all possible outcomes.

You can write a letter to the district stating why you want the GIIEP revised (I am doing that right now). Once you get the final copy, if you don't approve the GIEP, you have the option of mediation and/or due process. Technically (on paper), if you don't approve the GIEP and don't specify whether you want to pursue those options, it automatically goes to due process. In reality, no district will try to get a hearing officer to order that the kid gets the GIEP. So basically, nothing happens.

Thanks guys. Honestly I will be amazed if this is a GIEP we can approve. But hey. You never know.
