I looked a lot at all the Portland and area schools before my son started kindergarden. We ended up moving to West Linn, and go to Willamette Primary School which we've been pretty happy with so far. They have reading groups at their own levels, but not math. But the general level is high, so it's not too bad. I know you mentioned not wanting Lake Oswego, but they do ability based grouping. They test all their kids at the beginning of the year (it might be only math), so you get that sort of differentiation. But their physical schools have a lot of issues, and not enough funding for building maintenance. West Linn has one charter school, Three Rivers, which probably has a higher concentration of gifted kids and starts in grade 4. There's also a private school, Catlin Gabel, which is the best, if you can afford it. I think with all of the lottery processes, there's pretty much no way you can get into any of the charter schools, so I think I would go with Lake Oswego with your kids IQ scores.
