As NotherBen said.. It totally depends on university what the AP's count for what. For example at Cal Tech... you get no credit nor placement for any AP's. But if you hadn't taken any it's extremely unlikely you would get in. On the other end of the spectrum less prestigious state schools often give credit for anything over a 3. And anything in between.

When looking at universities this is something to check. And it's a good think to look at before deciding which AP tests to take senior year.

My son will get credit for Calculus & Physics. Placement of AP CS.. (and a tiny amount of credit) One of AP Bio or Physics will get him out of his Gen Ed science requirement. Doesn't really help that much.
