Not sure where to post this but Learning Environments sounds good. I have only been to our local library a few times but went there today to return some kids DVDs and noticed they have a new summer reading quest for kids so I asked about it and ended up signing up both boys. The kids are required to read (or listen to) certain number of books in different categories and levels and here comes the cool part. They let me sign up DS3.3 in the 1st-3rd grade reading level category! There were 3 categories. Listeners (3-K), 1st-3rd, and 4th-6th. I put DS4.9 in the listeners where he really belongs. But with the younger one, they just said "oh, it's so wonderful that the younger one can read and so well!" and then even put little note on the sign up card explaining that while he's pre-school age, he reads independently and does not listen to books read to him so nobody would question it. How awesome is this?
