This is our first year taking the test (4th grade - 9 year old - skipped 2nd grade)and ours are close (composite of 15)
I have to agree with Cricket2 - IMHO - I believe some of the results may correlate to exposure. Our 4th grader hasn't had any algebra or pre-algebra...yet. And I believe if she was exposed to it - she would have understood all the "math questions with letters" as she put it when she was finshed with the test.
Based on the NUMATS numbers from 2012 - the mean for 4th grade was around a composite of 14.5 (If I remember that correctly) or something close to that. (I also think that 2011 was close to that number too)
