I just wanted to thank all the wonderful people who post in this forum. I don't get on to post often, but whenever I'd get frustrated and need a little pick me up I'd troll the posts for inspiration. Here is a little inspiration to add to the mix...
WE DID IT!!!! After 2 years of tense meetings, 1 informal complaint to school system - denied, 1 formal complaint to the state board of education - Won, 1 all day Wrightslaw workshop, 1 organization & website created
www.lagifted.org and 1 pleasant meeting this morning;
DS8 NOW HAS SCIENCE ON HIS GIFTED IEP!!! Strictly speaking, it's still written in the wrong format which they refused to fix, but it's done!!! After Labor day he'll start going to a higher grade level for science and he'll still be getting his math and reading with his gifted teacher.
We are thrilled and grateful!
