I just wanted to thank all the wonderful people who post in this forum. I don't get on to post often, but whenever I'd get frustrated and need a little pick me up I'd troll the posts for inspiration. Here is a little inspiration to add to the mix...

WE DID IT!!!! After 2 years of tense meetings, 1 informal complaint to school system - denied, 1 formal complaint to the state board of education - Won, 1 all day Wrightslaw workshop, 1 organization & website created www.lagifted.org and 1 pleasant meeting this morning; DS8 NOW HAS SCIENCE ON HIS GIFTED IEP!!! Strictly speaking, it's still written in the wrong format which they refused to fix, but it's done!!! After Labor day he'll start going to a higher grade level for science and he'll still be getting his math and reading with his gifted teacher.

We are thrilled and grateful!

Yippee! Thanks for posting this great news. It's true that we push-push-push and then suddenly 'well of course!'

((BTW - I had to look up troll/trawl yesterday when I used both in the same sentence.
Troll go a-trolling when they try and stir up trouble on the Internets.
Trawler boats go trawling when they cast a wide net to catch stuff. It made my brain itch to have 2 such similar words bouncing around in there!))

wink,
Grinity

Definitely trawling then smile. There is a lot of great stuff to catch on this site! Whenever I meet a GT mom, I send them here first.

Trolling is also fishing, but with lines, not nets! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trolling_(fishing)

Great news! I'm glad someone has been successful in LA....we sure haven't, the IEP my son was given serves no real purpose that I've found other than to hopefully get me off their back...I hope the new accomodations work great for your son!I'll have to click around on your site a bit more!
