We got the results of the neuropsych. eval yesterday. I'm still recovering. Poor Mite. He's got quite the package to deal with in life.

1st....dyspraxia severe in hands, eyes and mouth.
2nd....sensorimotor dysfunction or sensory integration disorder
3rd....ADHD, severe inattentive type (argh)
4th....visual tracking in 1st percentile!!!
5th....hyperreactivity and movement in hands
6th....very high iq.

ugh. I don't even know where to begin to help the little guy. I just want to bundle back up in the over'the'shoulder'baby'holder and keep him with me all the time. I want to go back and start all over again.

The things is each of those disorders bear symptoms similar to the other and highly giftedness also bears those sensitivities.

We're starting meds tomorrow. I feel so sad to put him on meds (I take them and sometimes they make me sick). But, hopefully, with the ADHD under control we'll be able to deal with the other things.

I just hope the meds do control the ADHD.

On a good note, the neuropsychologist says his VCI is depressed and she will sponser him for YS application. I don't know if that will help, but it is worth the try. She feels his VCI is easily in the high to exceptional range.
