Hi, I need help. my 11-year-old kid, 6th grade, MAP test on 9-10-2012, score:256

It's good enough for 7th grade?

When she's in 5th grade, her MAP score was 260, why her score dropped 4 points?

Many times, scores drop from spring to the following fall. A score of 260 dropping to a 256 is not a huge drop to be concerned about.256 is in the 99th percentile for 6th grade and 96th for 7th grade. According to NWEA website

You didn't say what subject area the score was in.

A fall reading score of 256 would be at the 99th percentile for 7th grade, 98th for 8th-10th, and 96th for 11th.

A fall language usage score of 256 would be at the 99th percentile for 7th-9th, and 98th for 10th-11th.

A fall math score of 256 would be at the 96th percentil for 7th, 93rd for 8th, 90th for 9th, 88th for 10th, and 84th for 11th.

the score of 256 is for math.

today i got her Reading score 237, last fall her reading score was 240

last fall her Lexile level was 1213-1363, now is 1174-1324

everything dropped, I don't know why:-((((

any suggestion? please

You might check with her teacher to confirm whether the NWEA tests she took last Spring and this Fall are aligned with the Common Core.

NWEA now has a version of the assessment which is aligned with the common core rather than individual state standards. During the transition period, I believe that districts can choose which version of the test they want to use. As such you could have a situation where the tests taken last Spring were under the older standards and now this Fall being aligned with Common Core, which could cause a slight dip in the scores.
