Any suggestions on resources in virginia would be terrific. So far as I've been able to find a couple of good looking but expensive private schools for gifted children, somewhat nearby and the various county enrichment programs. Summer programs would be of great interest! Please let me know...we are in No. Virginia, so some Md. and W.Va. things could work for us too...

I was very interested in one of the schools for my ds7, but the cost was pretty high; does anyone know of any scholarships that might be available to help with private school tuition?

Thanks for any and all ideas!

It is funny I posted this yesterday morning, because yesterday evening (July 4th) we went to Great Meadow park in The Plains, VA for fireworks and festivities, and found this!!!!

Plus they had an truly awesome series of rockets go up - and come down, of course. I was really glad to see ds7 freaking out about this nearly as much as me wink Rockets are just too cool

We are planning on attending the next one, which I think is a two day event, 7/12 and 7/13, same location. If ds's interest is still high, I think we will join.
    ...added event to calendar.

You might want to check with Johns Hopkins. I think they have some kind of summer program. Also, William & Mary has something. They're not exactly close to you, but JHU wouldn't be too bad once a week if they had a weekend program.
